El arte de Mark Rothko: Selección de la Galería Nacional de Arte de Washington

This selection of 17 canvases and 10 drawings from all decades of Rothko’s career marked the first retrospective of the artist’s work in Latin America. Organized by the National Gallery of Art and its curator Ruth Fine in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State, it traveled to Hong Kong and Seoul in 2006. Teresa Arcq coordinated the installation at the Museo de arte moderno and wrote for the Spanish-language catalog. A near-identical selection of works by Rothko from the National Gallery—one drawing was substituted—had been assembled to commemorate the artist’s centennial in Riga, Latvia, and Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 2003–2004.
